i don’t get why he has to hide. for fear of being turned into a machine? why is that a danger? is it just a manifestation of his love? a nod to the wave of anti-psych americana he kicked off? or typical dylan perversity that’s probably true to life?

this remaster just sounds so vastly better than any version i’ve ever heard. the performance is still not quite as astounding as the one jonathan demme caught, but, in this incarnation, it sounds so perfectly layered and lands with such impact—it’s difficult to do anything else while i have it on

con-trair-y to room-ah. maybe you’re the kind of person that could turn my world around? that line seems so much longer written down

do people listen to these songs? “i’m down” is really good—the vocals are a pretty clear precursor to “helter skelter”
